As a Senior Observability Architect, you will help product and platform teams across Digital & Information Technology (D&IT) improve the visibility, reliability, and performance of their applications and systems. Working within a collaborative DevOps team, you will lead the development and adoption of observability practices, helping teams gain meaningful insights through monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and telemetry. with 8+ years of relevant experienceStrong understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, telemetry, and system performance conceptsExperience supporting DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation initiativesKnowledge of cloud environments such as Azure and/or AWSResponsibilities:Develop and advance observability strategies, frameworks, and best practices across applications, platforms, and value streamsDefine and establish performance metrics and operational indicators that align with business outcomesDevelop foundational standards, templates, and reference materials to improve consistency and adoptionChampion, facilitate and advise the development of observability strategy for individual teams within D&ITCollaborate with stakeholders to improve system reliability, operational awareness, and service performance across the organizationPartner with product and platform teams to implement effective monitoring, logging, alerting, and telemetry solutionsSupport the evolution of observability capabilities through automation, analytics, and emerging AiOps/Machine Learning driven practicesLocation and other Key Details:This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 - 6th Ave S.W. Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday with occasional site visits.
