Your role
As Assistant Front Office Manager, you will work closely with the Front Office Manager to support daily operations and deliver the level of service for which Hotel Clarendon is known.
You will be present for guests, available to your team and involved in the decisions that keep the front desk running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supervising daily front desk operations
Coaching, training and motivating team members
Supporting employees through complex situations
Ensuring a thoughtful and personalized guest experience
Handling complaints and sensitive guest situations
Encouraging room upgrades and sales opportunities
Replacing the Front Office Manager during their absence
Assisting at the front desk when operations require it
Collaborating with other hotel departments
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and service

The person we would like to meet
This could be the right next step for you if:
You have strong hotel front desk experience
You have worked as a team lead, supervisor or assistant manager
You are ready to grow into an early-career management position
You understand Quebec’s hotel industry through professional experience gained in Quebec
You are fully bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
You stay calm and make sound decisions in a fast-moving workplace
You enjoy coaching people, not simply giving instructions
You are genuinely committed to outstanding guest service
You are comfortable with sales and room upgrade opportunities
You are available to work some evenings and weekends
You can operate a cash register and point-of-sale terminal
Experience with a hotel property management system, particularly Opera, is an asset. Additional language skills are also welcome.
