Job Description
The Quality Control Coordinator (Utility) will support the the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract(“EGS”) of The Ontario Line ("OL"). The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).

Job Description
The Quality Control Coordinator (Utility) will support the the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract(“EGS”) of The Ontario Line ("OL"). The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).

What is the project?
The Ontario Line(“OL”) is a fully integrated, stand-alone, rapid transit system that connects Ontario Science Centre to the Exhibition and Ontario Place grounds. The Northern Civil, Stations and Tunnel(“NC”) project consist of approximately 7 kms of underground subway and elevated guideway, with stations along the segment providing connections to surface bus and streetcar routes. The NC project has been divided into two main progressive design-build contracts: (1) the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract(“EGS”) and the Pape Tunnel and Underground Station Contract(“PTUS”), with supporting Early Works.

What is the Opportunity?
The Quality Control Coordinator supports the Utility Division by ensuring that products, services, and project activities meet company and customer quality standards. The role coordinates quality control processes, monitors key quality metrics, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement across utility operations. The Quality Coordinator works closely with project and operational teams to address quality issues, track corrective actions, and support the implementation of quality policies and procedures. The role also provides guidance and training to employees on quality standards and procedures and contributes to maintaining consistent quality across utility projects.

Responsibilities





Conduct on-site and off-site quality inspections and witness testing activities to verify compliance with project specifications and Inspection & Test Plans

Monitor construction progress and workmanship to promptly identify and resolve quality issues

Overseeing testing of materials and structures, such as concrete strength tests, soil compaction tests, and other relevant tests

Perform inspections on delivered materials and equipment to confirm conformity with approved submittals and quality standards

Ensure all construction activities follow the specified ITPs, including the identification and execution of hold and witness points

Maintain, review, and update comprehensive records of inspections, including dates, findings, test results, and corrective actions

Document and report any deviations or Non-Conformances in materials, workmanship, or processes to the Quality Lead

Verify that corrective actions for identified Non-Conformances are effectively implemented and closed

Check and verify the certifications, qualifications, and accreditations of workers, subcontractors, and equipment to ensure alignment with project requirements

Support field teams with immediate feedback and guidance on quality issues, ensuring swift rectification of minor defects before escalation

Collaborate with construction teams to promote best practices for quality assurance and compliance.

Qualifications

Have the qualifications demonstrated by certificates of training and experience on transit construction projects

In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry best practices





Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting project specifications, drawings, and Inspection & Test Plans

Experience with quality inspection tools, testing methods, and documentation practices

Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements, codes, and construction standards

Ability to identify, document, and manage Non-Conformances and corrective actions

Clear and qualified communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders
