This full-time position within TransAlta’s Corporate Development team will involve performing comprehensive research and financial analyses. You will focus on evaluating strategic growth opportunities, including early-stage projects and M&A; ventures, ensuring that investment decisions are well-informed and impactful. Collaboration is key as you will work with various departments to drive TransAlta's vision.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide financial analysis for business development projects
• Ensure accuracy of inputs in financial models




• Assess implications of investment decisions
• Perform detailed ad hoc analyses and research
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate assets

Requirements:
• Minimum 3-5 years in strategy or financial analysis
• Degree in finance, business, or economics
• Preferred corporate development or investment banking background
• CFA preferred or in progress
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
