Our client, a leading steel producer in Eastern Ontario with more than 600 employees, is undertaking a major transformation of its planning processes through the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365. The company is looking for a Production Planning Specialist to lead the planning stream of this initiative.
The mandate
Reporting to the SIOP Planning Manager, the specialist will evaluate the current production planning process and, in collaboration with the D365 project team and an external implementation consultant, develop the D365 planning process that meets the company's requirements. This is a pivotal role: over the first year, the successful candidate will both run day-to-day production planning and deliver a working D365 planning process adopted by the teams.
The role day to day
Facilitate the planning of the production schedule and billet procurement from all suppliers
Monitor wire rod shipments and adjust the production schedule to improve shipments against forecast
Monitor daily plant loading to ensure all customer orders are produced and approved for shipment
Monitor capacity loading of processors so material reaches customers on time and affiliate processors run efficiently
Design and document the D365 planning process with the project team and the external consultant
Facilitate internal review and training sessions with the teams
Track and report on departmental KPIs
The ideal profile
5 to 7 years of related planning experience, particularly using an ERP system, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in industrial manufacturing
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, an asset
Comfortable with contemporary software applications
Proven ability to delegate, prioritize and communicate clearly with leadership
Ability to facilitate internal review and training sessions
Bilingual: English and French, spoken and written (required)

What Our Client Offers
Salary of $90,000 to $110,000
Permanent, full-time position on a 40-hour schedule
