The role
We are looking for a Project Manager to support the Medical Devices Research Centre (MD). The successful candidate must share our core values of integrity, excellence, respect, and creativity.

Education




University degree in science, engineering, project management, or another field relevant to the duties of this position.

Official designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) may be considered an asset.

Experience

Significant experience** managing large, complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders in a matrix environment, including staff, contractors, and complex procurement issues.

Significant experience** applying project management principles and adopting best practices, including coaching and training other staff in project management.

Experience reporting to senior management on project performance, including reviewing, producing, and analyzing performance indicators such as those related to cost, schedule, quality, customer satisfaction, and project team engagement, as well as providing recommendations for problem resolution.

Experience mobilizing internal and external stakeholders in a complex environment.

Experience working with and reporting to expert and technical committees may be considered an asset.

Experience managing projects in a research and technology environment may be considered an asset.

Experience in the federal government environment may be considered an asset.

Significant experience: At least two years of experience.

Condition of employment
Basic Reliability

For a Reliability Status, verification of background information over a period of 5 years is required.

In-depth knowledge of project management theory, procedures, and practices, and the use of project management software tools.

Knowledge of the operational context of a research center.

Ability to design detailed project plans, coordinate team activities and lead team meetings, monitor progress, and communicate with stakeholders (internal and external).

Compensation
This position is classified as a Research Council Officer (RCO), a group that is unique to the NRC. The RCO group uses a person-based classification system instead of the more common duties-based classification system. Candidates are remunerated based on their expertise, skill, outcomes and impacts of their previous work experience. The salary scale for this group is vast, from $64,739 to $183,010 per annum, which permits for employees of all levels from new graduates to world renowned experts to be fairly compensated for their contributions.

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $ per year.
