William Konkin Elementary - Continuing position starting as soon as possible.

5.5 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Summary

Works with school and district staff to foster and develop the individual's potential under the direction of the teacher and other professionals. Provides assistance to teachers and other professionals in the delivery of regular or alternate programs with a group or individual students. Functions as an advocate for students and a member of the school-based team when required.

Qualifications

- Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
- Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program
- BC driver’s license - Class 5 Full Privileged and an exemplary driving record/current driver’s abstract
- Minimum 6 months of experience working with children or youth who have intellectual, behavioral or multiple disabilities
- WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures

Pay Rate : Rate is based on a Certified Learning Support Worker. If not qualified, paid at Uncertified rate ($27.40).
