Empower Indigenous youth in fisheries as an Indigenous Youth Business Officer with the Native Fishing Association in West Vancouver. Guide young fishermen and fisherwomen through business services and growth opportunities.
In this full time, 2.5-year contracted position, you’ll work directly with young Indigenous entrepreneurs, providing business workshops, coaching, and loan application assistance. This role seeks to improve financial knowledge and foster entrepreneurship in the BC fishing sector through dedicated outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary support for young Indigenous fishermen
• Conduct training and workshops tailored for youth
• Assist with loan applications and budget planning
• Offer personalized business coaching and support
• Evaluate program activities and maintain client databases
Requirements:
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
• Degree or diploma in business or finance preferred
• Strong understanding of Indigenous communities
• Familiarity with government funding programs
• Uphold client confidentiality and trust
