Serve as an Indigenous Community Justice Worker with Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Inc. in Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, Manitoba. This role aims to provide effective diversion services tailored for Indigenous individuals.
As a Community Justice Worker, you will manage court referrals and ensure clients access necessary resources. Work closely with the MKO Justice Programs Manager, attend court sessions to advocate for clients, and develop programs that address family violence and conflict resolution. Perform key case management tasks and engage with community resources for client support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage referrals from Courts and law enforcement
• Attend court to support and represent clients
• Provide essential updates to judicial authorities
• Facilitate and deliver conflict resolution programming
• Advocate for client needs within the community
Requirements:
• At least a Grade 12 Diploma
• Knowledge of the Criminal Justice system and its challenges
• Experience in First Nation or Northern communities
• Robust verbal and written communication skills
• Valid Driver's License and ability to travel
