Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Site Services Supervisor and receiving day-to-day direction from the Site Services and Facilities Managers, the Site Electrician is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, installation, inspection, and maintenance of site electrical systems and equipment. The Site Electrician will also support general site maintenance activities and contribute to a safe, efficient, and well-maintained work environment.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Electrical Installation, Maintenance & Repair
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment at site.
Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in a timely manner to minimize operational downtime.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and infrastructure.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation.
Ensure all electrical work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and site requirements.
Site Maintenance Support
Work collaboratively with the Site Maintenance team to complete assigned maintenance activities.
Assist with general site maintenance tasks, including facility repairs and other support duties as required.
Participate in routine site inspections and contribute to maintenance planning and scheduling activities.
Support site projects and infrastructure upgrades as required.
Safety, Compliance & Reporting
Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable provincial and federal electrical regulations.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance activities.
Prepare and submit maintenance reports and documentation as required.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and team members regarding maintenance activities, equipment status, and operational requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
Education/Qualifications
Red Seal Electrician Certification (Construction or Industrial Electrician).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Current electrical safety certifications and relevant industry training considered an asset.
Experience / Skills
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrician, preferably in mining, industrial, construction, or remote-site environments.
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities related to electrical systems and equipment.
Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Experience with installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of electrical systems and infrastructure.
Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
Work Location & Conditions
This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site ona15dayson/13 daysoff rotation.
The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project islocatedwithin the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicantslocatedelsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.
There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and fromdifferent locationson uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.
Compensation
The expected hourly range for this position is CAD $57 in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines, and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
