Join Six Nations of the Grand River as a Sexual Health Nurse to provide essential reproductive health services and education. Focus on personalized care, STI management, and youth wellness within First Nations communities.
This 12-month contract role within Primary Care Services emphasizes evidence-based practices and cultural sensitivity. Reporting to the Manager of Primary Care, you will collaborate closely with the Public Health Department to enhance health promotion and disease prevention. Your work will extend to developing policies and programs that support youth and LGBTQ2S+ health initiatives in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver trauma-informed care for STI prevention and treatment
• Offer contraceptive counseling and pregnancy options
• Engage in community health education efforts
• Lead in developing and evaluating health programs
• Collaborate with healthcare providers for integrated care
Requirements:
• Registered Nurse with a BScN or Diploma in Nursing
• Two years minimum experience in public health settings
• Current valid Ontario Driver’s License
• CPR certification required
• Robust commitment to confidential and ethical care
