Provide strategic legal advice at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as a Clinical Risk Legal Counsel. This in office role involves guiding patient care, safety, and organizational risk management.

As part of the Legal Services team, you will support hospital leadership in addressing complex legal matters related to patient safety and healthcare law. Engage with clinical teams, Risk Management, and operational stakeholders to mitigate risks associated with patient care. This role requires expertise in healthcare law, privacy regulations, and litigation processes to navigate various legal challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
• Advise on patient care and safety from a legal perspective
• Collaborate with Risk Management on patient complaints




• Manage responses to Human Rights Tribunal applications
• Draft and interpret legal agreements and documents
• Partner with Clinical Ethics on complex patient situations

Requirements:
• LL.B. or J.D. and Law Society of Ontario membership
• 4 to 7 years of post-call legal experience
• Strong background in healthcare and privacy law
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in legal document management
