Parks Canada is hiring a Geomatics Technician for a 6-month term with potential for extension. This position will focus on maintaining databases and providing geomatics services critical for park management. You will be engaged in data analysis, project supervision, and supporting conservation initiatives across the beautiful national park reserve.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain spatial and non-spatial data systems
• Provide geomatics services for resource conservation projects
• Lead and supervise scientific monitoring and management projects
• Analyze and present geospatial data to support management
• Collaborate with team members on applied scientific research
Requirements:
• Degree in Geomatics, Geography, or Environmental Sciences
• Proven experience in geospatial data acquisition and processing
• Familiarity with ArcGIS and other spatial analysis tools
• Knowledge of geomatics trends and ecosystem management
• Must hold a valid Class 5 driver's license
