Senior Quantum Optics / Photonics Engineer | Quantum ComputingAs a member of the Hardware R&D Team, you will collaborate with our team to develop nonlinear optical devices on integrated nanophotonic platforms. You will design, build, and operate complex optical experiments, utilizing rigorous data analysis to characterize and optimize scalable quantum light sources for the world's first photonic quantum computers.What you'll be doing:Build and operate advanced optical experiments to generate and measure squeezed lightDevelop and benchmark next-generation nonlinear photonic devicesCharacterise photonic integrated circuits (PICs) with thermal and electro-optic componentsAnalyse experimental data and compare results against simulations and analytical modelsDevelop test procedures, technical documentation and automated measurement workflowsWhat they're looking for:PhD in Quantum Optics, Photonics, AMO,
Electrical Engineering or a related fieldStrong knowledge of squeezed light, photon generation and single-photon detectionExperience with homodyne/heterodyne detection and shot-noise-limited measurementsExperience with laser/resonator locking techniques such as Pound-Drever-Hall or dither lockingStrong hands-on experience with optical/RF laboratory equipmentPython experience for data acquisition, analysis and automationAbility to develop analytical and numerical models of physical systemsNice to have:Microring resonators, frequency combs or soliton generationPulse shaping, IQ/amplitude modulation and arbitrary waveform generatorsAutomated instrument control and hardware interfacingLaser noise characterisation, including phase/frequency noise and RIN #J-18808-Ljbffr
