Become a vital part of Our Place Society as a Housing and Shelter Support Worker. This temporary night position involves crisis intervention and support for residents, making a profound impact in their lives.
In this maternity leave role, you will report to the Site Supervisor and play an integral part in identifying and addressing the needs of sheltered individuals. Your responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, implementing intervention plans, and supporting residents with daily life skills through creative and cooperative approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct individual counseling and wellness checks
• Develop rapport and support residents' personal goals
• Document progress and maintain detailed case files
• Actively engage in client intake and program delivery
• Collaborate with community resources for referrals
Requirements:
• Minimum one year of related experience
• Diploma in a relevant social service field
• Ability to work a 12-hour night shift
• Skills in de-escalation and crisis management
• Strong communication and initiative skills
