As a casual Engine Room Assistant with BC Ferries, you will report to the 1st Engineer. Your role involves checking engine performance, conducting safety inspections, and supporting maintenance activities. Previous experience in marine operations is beneficial, including relevant safety training.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and maintain oil, water, and pressure levels
• Perform general cleaning of engine room spaces
• Aid engineers with regular and major maintenance
• Conduct daily fuel and oil checks on machinery
• Engage in safety drills and maintenance of emergency systems

Requirements:
• Completed Marine Emergency duties training (STCW A1 and B2)
• Mechanical background and Engine Room Rating certificate preferred
• 4th Class Motor Certificate is an asset
• Efficient task execution within safety protocols
• Understanding of propulsion and electrical systems
