This position is located onsite in Hamilton, Washington State.
Position Description
Perform general IT support in secure environments. Helps Janicki employees with computing and communication problems related to computers, phones, printers, applications, server/networking configuration, and hardware.
An active security clearance is required.
Roles & Responsibilities
Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems of varying complexity
Installs and troubleshoots computer hardware and peripherals
Assists with maintaining hardware labeling and inventory
Responds promptly to requests for technical support
Patiently communicates with employees across the company
Documents, tracks, and monitors work using applicable systems and tools
Travels to various Janicki locations to provide on-site assistance as needed
May coordinate with other teams or departments to resolve user problems
May train, coach, and assist less experienced team members
Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
Assists with preparing for annual inspections
Must become familiar with National Institute of Standards and Technology manuals 800-171 and 800-53
Must maintain a DoD 8570.01 Certification
May be required to travel within the continental U.S.
Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
Performs other duties as assigned
The Help Desk Technician has three levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion:
Level i
Basic understanding of IT support and security
No experience with Janicki systems
Uses client image and software deployment
Eager to expand technical capabilities
Eager to learn and apply our preferred processes and solutions
LEVEL II:
Intermediate understanding of IT support and security
Some experience with Janicki systems
Help modify packages for client image and software deployment
Ability to train newer teammates
Identifies potential follow-up tasks while resolving issues and helps resolve them
Intermediate understanding of computer networking and security
Familiar with most Janicki systems and their owners
Administers client image and software deployment
Help train newer teammates
Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement in the computing environment; may lead projects to resolve
Level Iii
Basic understanding of IT support and security
No experience with Janicki systems
Uses client image and software deployment
Eager to expand technical capabilities
Eager to learn and apply our preferred processes and solutions
Intermediate understanding of IT support and security
Some experience with Janicki systems

Ability to train newer teammates

Basic Qualifications
Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program
Education/Experience
Associate degree required; equivalent combination of education, experience, and industry certifications will be considered. Must have strong customer service skills and proficient oral and written communication skills in the English language
Must be proficient working with Windows OS, common applications like Microsoft Office, and PC hardware (A+ certification level)
Must have a basic understanding of computer networking and security
Must obtain CompTIA’s Security+ certification within 6-months of hire
Must be willing to participate in an after-hours,
on-call rotation for responding to IT emergencies
Must be accommodating and flexible while maintaining priorities
Must be able to work well independently and under pressure
DETAILED WAGE INFORMATION
Wage range for this role is between $20 - $40, plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
