Join CancerCare Manitoba as a Psychosocial Clinician II, targeting the unique needs of Indigenous cancer patients in Winnipeg. Leverage your counseling expertise to improve access to psychosocial services.
This permanent position in the Psychosocial Oncology department focuses on addressing the systemic issues that hinder healthcare access for Indigenous Peoples. You will perform clinical assessments and develop interventions tailored to the cultural sensitivities and needs of diverse patients. Your role will be critical in enhancing equitable health experiences through a team-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct clinical assessments and psychosocial consultations
• Offer counselling to oncology patients and families
• Provide trauma-informed, culturally secure care principles
• Collaborate with healthcare providers in patient support
• Engage in departmental education and community outreach programs
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Social Work or related field
• At least three years of counseling experience
• Completion of anti-racism and cultural safety training
• Understanding of social determinants of health
• Demonstrated ability to work in high-stress situations
