Join Okanagan College as a Youth in Care Support Navigator to make a transformative impact. Provide outreach, guidance, and comprehensive support to students in need within a collaborative community.
As a Navigator, you will assist Former Youth in Care students by bridging gaps to educational funding and community services. This full time, pivotal role focuses on developing supportive relationships, ensuring students gain access to necessary resources throughout their educational journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate one-on-one support for students facing barriers
• Understand and guide students through college support services
• Collaborate with community partners for engaged strategies
• Develop and maintain regular student contact and support
• Provide assistance with funding processes and applications
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 with additional post-secondary education
• 1-2 years of experience with at-risk youth
• Strong communication and intercultural competence
• Ability to manage complex policies and processes
• Sound discretion and judgment in sensitive scenarios
