As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse with Halton Healthcare, you will engage with adults experiencing acute psychiatric disorders. This role, requiring a minimum of one year of acute adult mental health experience, involves critical tasks like monitoring medication responses and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team. You are expected to demonstrate solid assessment and crisis intervention skills and ensure patient-centered care in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer medications effectively to patients • Conduct thorough mental status and physical assessments • Monitor and document patient responses to interventions • Communicate ongoing with team members and charge nurses • Foster teamwork in a supportive care setting
Requirements: • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification • CPI certification and strong psychopharmacology understanding • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Physical capability for intensive nursing tasks
