We are looking for a reliable and hardworking General Shop Helper to assist with day-to-day operations in our welding and fabrication shop. This is an entry-level position suitable for someone who is willing to learn, work with their hands, and assist wherever needed.
Training will be provided for basic shop tasks and welding-related work.
Responsibilities
Assist welders and fabricators with general shop tasks
Move, load, unload, and organize steel and other materials
Assist with lifting and handling heavy materials safely
Operate a forklift when trained and authorized
Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks as trained
Assist with grinding, cutting, drilling, and material preparation as trained
Clean and organize work areas, equipment, and the shop
Help prepare materials and parts for fabrication
Load and unload trucks and deliveries
Use basic hand and power tools safely
Follow all shop safety procedures and wear required PPE
Perform other general shop duties as required
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Willingness to learn welding and basic fabrication skills
Comfortable performing physical work and lifting heavy materials
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
Able to work safely around machinery, tools, and welding operations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Forklift experience or certification is an asset but not required
Previous shop, construction, mechanical, or welding experience is an asset
