The Accounting Clerk is responsible for the entry of all payables and receivables, processing accounting files in an accurate and timely matter, and ensuring that monthly statements and reports are correct and up to date.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Cash balancing and bank reconciliation.
Process accounts receivables and collections.
Process accounts payable invoices; reconciliation of supplier statements; payment of supplier statements monthly.
Work with customers to collect arrears receivables.
Process and reconcile receivables from manufacturer.
Maintain sublet repairs, sublet accounting schedule, and sublet items such as towing charges and vehicle rental charges for the dealership and body shop.
Assist in preparation of monthly statements through reconciliation of various accounts.
Assist in preparing fiscal year-end working papers for auditors.
Notify staff of additions and changes to inventory for computer records.




Manage charge-back program for late charges to inventory.
Input vehicle deals monthly to ensure accurate inventory reconciliation and commission payments to sales staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of a car dealership workplace including sales and finance preferred.
Proficient computer skills including MS Office
Experience with PBS an asset
Time management, reliability, and organization.
Robust interpersonal skills including collaboration, motivation, openness, and problem-solving abilities.

Education and Experience:
Post-secondary education (or equivalent experience), University or College Degree in Business/Finance preferred.
2+ years of accounting/office management (preferably in a dealership setting).
