Job Summary

VW Social Club is the centre of Food, Drinks, and Fun at the University of Manitoba. We pride ourselves in being a fun, safe and engaging place to work and relax.

We are hiring multiple bartenders and servers for the upcoming school year. Candidates must have Smart Choices certification, with a strong preference for a minimum of six months working as a bartender or server in a hospitality setting.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be clean and organized, and be able to work quickly and efficiently as part of a team in a fast paced workplace.

Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring timely delivery with a smile
Mix and serve drinks responsibly, following standard recipes and safety guidelines
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area and dining space
Monitor guest satisfaction,



promptly addressing any concerns or special requests
Check identification to verify legal drinking age and adhere to responsible alcohol service policies
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy hours

Qualifications
Previous experience as a server or bartender is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
Excellent communication skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor
Ability to multitask efficiently in a quick-paced setting
Knowledge of basic food safety and responsible alcohol service practices
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods throughout shifts

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
