About the Role
Mission X is looking for a detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial records and handle tax compliance across both Canada and the United States. This is a hybrid role based in Richmond, BC, ideal for someone who's comfortable owning the books end-to-end and navigating cross-border tax requirements.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, and general ledger entries
Prepare and process payroll
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Prepare and file Canadian tax returns (GST/HST, T2, T4, etc.) in compliance with CRA requirements
Prepare and file US tax filings as applicable (e.g., federal and state returns, 1099s) in compliance with IRS requirements
Advise on cross-border tax implications and ensure compliance with both Canadian and US regulations
Manage invoicing and vendor/client payments
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Liaise with external auditors, accountants,
or tax advisors as needed
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls
Qualifications
3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Must prove working knowledge of both Canadian (CRA) and US (IRS) tax regulations and filing requirements
CPA designation (Canadian or US) preferred, but not required
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
Robust Excel/spreadsheet skills
High attention to detail and robust organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
What We Offer
Competitive salary ($60,000–$80,000/yr, based on experience)

Pay: $55,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
