Thompson Construction Group has immediate openings for Water and Sewer Excavator Operators supporting our Infrastructure division’s land development and subdivision projects in the Edmonton area.
Responsibilities:
Excavate and safely slope (1:1 or engineered alternative) ditches to grade for general water and sewer installation
Comfortable excavating near existing utilities
Work with Pipe Layer to expose existing utilities for tie-ins and for utility crossings
Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
Report all incidents, near misses, and equipment damage to site supervision
Maintain effective communication with supervisors and crew members
Work collaboratively as part of a construction crew to meet project timelines
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience
Minimum 18 years of age
Reliable transportation to and from site
Ability to work extended hours, including up to 12 hours per day, Monday to Saturday
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset
Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor construction setting
