About the Position:
In this role,
the Occupational Therapist operates within the defined scope of practice, taking on the responsibility of assessing and treating individuals affected by physical, emotional, or cognitive
challenges. The therapist, reporting to the Professional Practice Leader, and supported by a Team Lead, educates clients whose ability to function has been hindered by mental illness. The therapist's primary objective is to deliver targeted individualized treatment, emphasizing behavior and skill development or adaptation. The ultimate aim is to enhance independent functioning in various aspects of occupational performance, with a specific focus on mental health and community engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
· Member in positive standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
· Experience in working with the adult psychiatric population.
· Experience in developing and leading psycho-educational and therapeutic groups.
· Experience with recovery-based programs for individuals with serious mental illness.
Pay: $39.19-$56.30 per hour
