Join the fight against gender-based violence in Powell River as a Stopping the Violence Outreach Coordinator. Flexible hours allow you to support clients through resources and education.
As an Outreach Coordinator based in the qathet Regional District, you will utilize your community development experience and commitment to women's advocacy. The ideal candidate has a background in human services and will provide follow-up support as well as facilitate educational initiatives on violence prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver follow-up services to clients transitioning from Grace House
• Support women in identifying safety and community resources
• Cultivate relationships and collaborate on case planning
• Empower clients through advocacy and problem-solving techniques
• Lead educational programs to increase awareness of violence prevention
Requirements:
• Diploma in a related field; bachelor’s preferred
• Two years of related experience in advocacy roles
• Adult educator training is a plus
• Must hold a valid BC Driver’s License
• Current Criminal Record Check and CPR/First Aid certification
