Job Description
At aKin, our Polisher is an essential member of the team, dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of service and presentation. As a Polisher, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the pristine appearance of our dining room, by assisting our servers with polishing glasses and plates. This is a detail-oriented position that supports both the front and back-of-house operations, working closely with the service and kitchen teams.
The Day-to-Day:
Thoroughly polish and inspect glassware, cutlery, and dish ware to ensure they are spotless and gleaming
Assist with organizing and storing polished items in their proper locations for seamless service
Work closely with the dishwashing team to manage the flow of clean and polished items during service
Handle delicate and fine materials with care, including high-end glassware and custom tableware
Follow strict cleanliness and hygiene guidelines to meet aKin’s service standards
Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.Perform other duties or responsibilities as required by the Chef, General Manager, or Bar Manager
Qualifications
Previous experience in a high-end restaurant setting is an asset
Robust attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Ability to work efficiently and manage time in a quick-paced setting
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Willingness to learn and contribute to the success of the team
Ability to handle delicate items with care and precision
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
