La Vecchia Ristorante is looking for a professional, career-minded Fine Dining Server to join our team at our Thornhill location. For over 25 years, La Vecchia has been a staple of authentic Italian culture and cuisine, blending traditional flavors with a contemporary fine-dining atmosphere.
We are seeking an individual who treats hospitality as an art form and understands that exceptional service is the foundation of a memorable guest experience.
The Role
As a Server at La Vecchia, you are an ambassador of Italian hospitality. You will guide guests through our extensive menu and curated wine list, providing knowledgeable recommendations and precise service in a quick-paced, upscale environment.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of our authentic Italian menu, daily specials, and ingredients (including allergens).
Wine & Spirits: Provide expert wine pairings and cocktail suggestions; perform professional tableside wine service.
Service Excellence:
Execute standard fine-dining service protocols (marking silver, crumbng tables, synchronized service) with a warm, personable touch.
Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the kitchen (Mise en Place) and support staff to ensure perfectly timed courses.
Integrity: Manage transactions accurately and maintain a pristine dining environment throughout the shift.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a high-volume, fine-dining or upscale-casual workplace.
Certification: Valid Smart Serve certification is mandatory.
Product Knowledge: Robust foundational knowledge of Italian wines, spirits, and traditional Italian culinary terms.
Skills: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to remain calm and polished under pressure.
Availability: Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: $17.60 per hour
