The position of Accounting Generalist will be responsible for General Cashier/Accounts Receivable including the processing and reconciliation of cash deposits and maintaining the hotel float according to company policies, as well as, assists in the preparation of client invoices and collections thereof. This position reports to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.

This is a 3-month contract position.

Responsibilities
Count and reconcile daily cash drops, prepare bank deposits and post corresponding journal entries.
Control and maintain hotel float, manage float disbursement when necessary, and complete monthly float counts for employee held banks.
Process and reconcile petty cash receipts.
Investigate and process credit card chargebacks.




Bill and Collect trade and non-trade receivables for the Vancouver properties.
Process direct billing applications.
Review Banquet BEO’s and Group Resumes to ensure all charges are being billed.
Co-ordinate with property Events and Sales teams to ensure accurate billing
Collection calls and follow-up as necessary.
Assist with guest calls, questions and disputes.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
The position requires solid communication, analytical, interpersonal & time management skills.
A minimum of 2 years experience in accounting complemented by a recognized certificate or degree in accounting and/or hospitality.
Some courses towards accreditation by a professional accounting body are also valued. The Accounting Generalist must be detail oriented, and, have the ability to successfully multi-task.
Expertise with Excel and other Microsoft Office features is essential. Familiarity with Aptech Profitvue, Marriott PMS, Lightspeed or OnQ are desirable.

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
