Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tutor to support students in achieving their STEM goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, robust communication skills, and experience working with children. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on students' learning experiences across various subjects, including Robotics, coding and special education. The Tutor will work closely with students to provide personalized instruction in a supportive setting, fostering confidence and academic success.
Responsibilities
Teach robotics and coding programs to children in small-group settings
Lead engaging, hands-on STEM activities and projects
Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking
Support students with beginner to intermediate coding concepts
Develop customized lesson plans and educational materials to enhance learning outcomes.
Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
Maintain a positive and encouraging learning setting.
Collaborate with teachers, parents,
and school staff to ensure cohesive support for student success.
Qualifications
Experience with coding platforms such as Scratch, Python, Blockly, or similar
Familiarity with robotics platforms such as LEGO Robotics, Arduino, VEX, etc.
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Previous experience teaching or working with children is an asset
Experience working with children in educational or tutoring settings.
Excellent teaching and communication skills with the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds.
Background or training in special education is advantageous.
Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
Prior experience in tutoring or teaching is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates committed to professional growth.
