Transform lives as an Addiction Recovery Counsellor with The Salvation Army. This position offers community-focused support through individual and group therapy sessions for those in recovery.
In this role, you will present evidence-based treatment strategies in both one-on-one and group settings. The focus will be on creating tailored recovery plans and supporting individuals through their unique challenges. Engaging with diverse populations and building community partnerships is essential for fostering a recovery-oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct confidential addiction assessments and counselling
• Organize and lead group workshops on recovery topics
• Assist participants in navigating recovery services
• Collaborate in case management and support plans
• Develop essential community partnerships for effective outreach
Requirements:
• Relevant diploma in counselling or a related field
• Minimum two years of experience in addiction treatment
• Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
• Proven knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques
• Current Criminal Record Review clearance
