Title: Software Engineer – Capital Markets Technology

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid 4 days per week onsite)

Duration: 9 Months

Introduction

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team in Capital Markets Technology. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software development, particularly within enterprise environments, and will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting applications across Canada Markets platforms including Equities, Fixed Income, and Mortgages.

Required Skills & Qualifications
10+ years of hands-on development experience in enterprise environments
Robust programming skills (e.g., Java or similar backend technologies)
Experience with APIs, microservices, and integration patterns
Experience building, testing, and deploying code in structured settings
Prior work experience in banking or financial indusrty





Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices
Experience working on legacy system upgrades, code remediation, and technical debt reduction
Understanding of secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Collaborate with project managers, business partners, and infrastructure teams to ensure timely and reliable delivery
Contribute to platform upgrades, remediation of vulnerabilities, and reduction of legacy technical debt
Support production stability, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of applications
