Pegen Industries, located in the Ottawa area, is a dynamic machine shop and we are growing! We are a team of dedicated professionals, who proudly deliver to a diverse client base including contract manufacturing, optical components, telecommunications, aerospace, space flight, defense and security, nuclear, detection and measurement instrumentation, medical devices and industrial products.

Our sheet metal team is currently seeking a CNC Punch and Brake Press Operator with 2 – 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing setting. Reporting to the Production Manager (Sheet Metal), the successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation and troubleshooting of a CNC punch and brake press.

Key Responsibilities
· Accept direction from the Production Manager (Sheet Metal) with regards to daily priorities;

· Set up and operate brake presses;

· Set up and operate CNC punch;

· Read and follow router instructions and interpret drawings;

· Maintain exact counts of parts produced on runs;

· Meet estimated run times on parts produced;





· Calibrate press brakes using tools and calibration equipment;

· Other fabrication duties as requested (e.g. installing PEMs, shearing material, assembly, etc.)

Experience & Key Skills
· College diploma in related discipline or equivalent experience;

· 2 - 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing workplace;

· Attention to detail and organized;

· Ability to read a tape measure in inches and millimeters;

· Mechanical aptitude;

· Ability to interpret basic drawings and blueprints;

· Manual dexterity;

· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.;

· Good teamwork and communication skills.

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour
