Shape First Nations advocacy efforts as the Director of Economic Development and Infrastructure at the Assembly of First Nations (AFN). This hybrid role requires expertise in policy and strategic leadership.
In this role, you will ensure the efficient operation of the Economic Development and Infrastructure Branch. Your responsibilities include developing policies, building relationships with First Nations and government officials, and leading cross-functional teams. Solid interpersonal skills and political acumen are essential in this challenging position oriented towards First Nations economic success and capacity building.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead branch initiatives’ planning and development
• Execute strategies for national economic advocacy
• Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders
• Provide policy recommendations to senior management
• Monitor economic policy developments for leadership updates
Requirements:
• 5+ years in senior management experience
• University degree in relevant field preferred
• Proven experience in First Nations governance
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Excellent organizational skills and project management experience
