The City of Richmond is looking for a skilled Director of Police Services to oversee civilian operations supporting the Richmond RCMP Detachment. You will collaborate with senior administration and various stakeholders to provide essential guidance and resources. Your leadership will directly impact crime analysis, financial management, and community policing efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of over 90 full time staff and 60 Auxiliaries
• Administer a significant operating budget of $90 million
• Develop community communication and crisis management strategies
• Coordinate human resources functions including training and safety
• Advise City Council on strategic community safety matters
Requirements:
• Degree in Public Safety or equivalent experience
• Minimum five years in a leadership role
• Familiarity with RCMP legislation and community safety policies
• Effective strategic planning and change management capabilities
• Valid BC Driver’s License and RCMP Enhanced Security clearance
