About the Opportunity
A well-established financial services organization is seeking an experienced Human Capital Management (HCM) Sales Officer to help grow its HCM solutions business.
This is a consultative, relationship-driven sales role focused on helping businesses with 50+ employees evaluate and implement HCM solutions tailored to their workforce, payroll, and operational needs.
The ideal candidate combines HCM industry knowledge with strong business development skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with referral partners, prospects, and existing clients.
Key Responsibilities
Sell Human Capital Management solutions through internal and external referral channels.
Develop relationships with prospective clients, primarily businesses with 50+ employees.
Analyze prospective clients' workforce and business needs to recommend appropriate HCM solutions.
Develop and present customized proposals.
Lead prospects through the sales process from initial conversation through contract negotiation and close.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales to implementation.
Build and maintain relationships with existing HCM clients to identify evolving needs and additional opportunities.
Develop strong relationships with internal and external referral partners.
Maintain an active and organized sales pipeline using CRM tools.
Collaborate with marketing and internal stakeholders on initiatives designed to increase market awareness and generate opportunities.
Serve as a knowledgeable, consultative resource throughout the sales process.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally within Human Capital Management, payroll, HR technology, or a related industry.
Demonstrated success in consultative or solution-based sales.
Strong relationship-building and customer communication skills.
Ability to identify business challenges and translate them into appropriate solutions.
Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Comfortable managing multiple prospects and opportunities throughout a sales cycle.
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and referral partners.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience or industry credentials.
Preferred Background
Experience selling payroll, HRIS, workforce management, benefits, or related technology/services.
Knowledge of payroll processes and regulations.
Experience selling to organizations with 50+ employees.
Existing experience developing business through referral relationships.
Familiarity with CRM-based pipeline management.
FPC, PHR, or other relevant payroll/HR certifications.

This person should be comfortable prospecting and developing new relationships while also digging into how a prospective client's business operates. Rather than selling a one-size-fits-all product, you'll be expected to understand each organization's needs and develop a solution that makes sense for their workforce.
You should be comfortable owning the sales process,
building credibility with decision-makers, negotiating agreements, and working cross-functionally to ensure clients have a strong experience after the sale.
