The Millwright/Electrician is responsible for performing general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of facilities, industrial systems, and equipment and is tasked with resolving mechanical/electrical issues with building systems and equipment, including dock levelers, automated transfer systems (automation controls, pneumatic and hydraulic components).
About the Role Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment in breakdown situations, performing equipment installations and modifications as required.
Assists with installation and modification of building equipment systems.
Performs predictive and preventative maintenance as per prescribed schedule.
Assists with routine building maintenance as required and conducts annual building inspections.
Completes required documentation of maintenance and repair records and Food Safety documentation as required.
Reviews, prioritizes and performs company work orders on a daily basis to ensure timely completion of tasks to meet deadlines.
Assists in providing estimates of time and materials/supplies needed to complete repairs and/or proposed projects for approval.
Complies with all applicable codes, safety standards,
environmental/government regulations, and Company directives related to building operations and safe work.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications Job Specifications—Skills and Competencies:
Certified Industrial Millwright and/or Electrician with minimum 5 years field experience.
Experience in component assembly/disassembly, diagnosis of root causes of failure, simple repairs of mechanical and electrical components, welding.
Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Critical thinking skills with the ability to problem-solve.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
Must be detail-oriented with solid organizational and documentation skills.
Must be a self-starter with a sense of urgency.
Available to carry out emergency maintenance work outside of normal working hours.
Fully capable of working in varying temperatures. Temperatures may range anywhere from 2° to 15°C in most Warehouses and from 0° to -30°C in Cold Storage buildings.
Working at Heights certification an asset.
First Aid & CPR preferred but not required.
