Position: Part Time Security Officer (USWA)

Posting Period: August 14, 2026 - August 21, 2026

Hours of Work: 8/hr Shifts

Location: WRHN @ Midtown and Chicopee

Position Summary
Hospital Security Officers maintain a high regard for the rights of all hospital patrons & the laws governing those rights. Our team endeavors to preserve & maintain an environment where diverse social & cultural values are allowed & accepted.

Responsibilities
Some major services our Security team provides include twenty four hour Security coverage of the hospital with a dedicated officer in the Emergency Department, immediate response to all Hospital Emergency Codes, asset protection, maintaining a safe environment for Patients, Staff, Physicians & Volunteers, access control, issuing parking infraction notices & assisting clinical staff with patient care as required. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe setting for patients, staff and visitors.

Position Requirements

Grade 12 education or equivalent

Valid Ontario Security Guard License required

Must have 2-year Law and Security course or equivalent combination of experience and education





Ability to communicate with the general public and other Hospital staff and external emergency personnel

Good oral and written skills

Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time

Must have CPR and First Aid Certificate

Ability to make decisions in an emergency or stressful situations

Must be able to prioritize workload

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Excellent computer skills

Some mechanical abilities

Excellent attendance record
