Commissioning Specialist
In this role you will be part of the Buildings team in the MEP Sector. You will oversee commissioning services for mechanical and electrical systems while engaging with stakeholders. Your role is pivotal in the growth of the commissioning service within the Central Canada Buildings group.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Participate in commissioning projects from initiation to completion, including LEED‑related commissioning, retro‑commissioning, and re‑commissioning projects
- Attend meetings and coordinate work related to commissioning services with other disciplines and team members, including mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, building code, building envelope/science, and other specialty services
- Liaison/coordination with clients, contractors and authorities having jurisdiction
- Review owner project requirements
- Perform design reviews
- Develop commissioning specifications
- Create commissioning plans, checklists and tests
- Perform field visits and observe commissioning tests,
including functional performance testing of HVAC and electrical systems
- Work with contractors in the field to resolve commissioning issues observed during testing
- Write field and final reports
- Create system manuals
- Oversee building operator training
What Your Experience Looks Like
- 4+ years of experience in commissioning, building system design/consulting, test and balance, or building automation systems
- Commissioning certification (Certified Building Commissioning Professional, CxA or equivalent) is an asset
- Qualified Engineering (P.Eng) is an asset
- Ability to travel within the GTHA and Ontario with a valid G Class licence
- Familiarity with building envelope commissioning is an asset
The salary range for this role is between $65,000 and $90,000, with compensation packages based on skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and work location.
