Shape the health of children at Dze L K'ant Friendship Centre Society as a Cook in Houston, British Columbia. Your culinary skills will support nourishing meals and cultural learning.
As part of the Friendship Centre Cub House team, you will plan and prepare meals that are nutritious and culturally relevant. Your role includes managing food purchasing, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and accommodating dietary restrictions. You will also contribute to family and community gatherings through meal service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to guidelines
• Manage food inventory and maintain necessary records
• Follow food safety and sanitation processes precisely
• Assist in cultural events through food service
• Clean and organize kitchen and prep areas
Requirements:
• Must possess Food Protected Level 1 Certification
• Experience preparing meals in relevant settings
• Required Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Medical Clearance to be provided
• Preferred knowledge of Indigenous dietary practices
