We are looking for a knowledgeable RPN with current surgical expertise to join our dedicated team. The selected candidate must possess exceptional organizational abilities and thrive in fast-paced settings. You will engage in both physical and psychological assessments, preparing patients for various surgeries and providing essential post-operative education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments
• Provide instruction and preparation for surgical procedures
• Assist with patient mobilization,
transfers, and ambulation
• Deliver post-operative health teaching on recovery and pain management
• Collaborate closely with RNs and adhere to Person-Centred Care principles
Requirements:
• Current Ontario College of Nurses Registration
• RPN diploma and BCLS certification required
• Minimum 1-2 years surgical experience
• Venipuncture IV certification and phlebotomy skills
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
