About the Role The Director of Squash and Program Manager at the Cambridge Club is responsible for planning, directing, and managing world class squash programming, events, and operations for a thriving squash section that is unlike any other in Canada. This is a senior management role requiring leadership of staff, strategic planning, and full budget accountability.

Major/Specific Responsibilities

Plan, direct and manage all squash programming, tournaments and events

Recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate squash instructors and program support staff

Develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures for all squash program operations

Develop, manage and control the annual squash and pro shop budget, including operational plans and financial reporting

Manage and operate the pro shop, including inventory, procurement and sales strategy

Oversee and deliver squash instruction programs for all skill levels

Manage the annual Bentley Cup and Pro-Am Championship including participants, ticket sales, sponsorship and social events

Organize,



run and promote annual events including the Singles Calcutta Handicap Tournament, Club Championships, Cambridge Club Table Tennis Championships and Cambridge Club Tennis Day

Organize, run and maintain quarterly Monday House League, Wednesday Elite League and ongoing ladder play

Maintain a social atmosphere within the squash section that provides members with a friendly and competitive environment consistent with the Club's reputation

Attend bi-weekly management meetings and contribute to strategic planning at the senior management level

Market the squash program across the company to maximize the number of squash members and court utilization

Maintain online booking program and court management systems

Maintain squash courts and continuously improve the appearance and standards of the squash section

Participate in recruiting for other departments as needed

Support the management team in the overall smooth and effective running of the Club

Working Relationships/Contacts

Report directly to the General Manager

Liaise with the Oak Room Manager and Chef for squash events and food and beverage needs

Collaborate with all department managers throughout the year to ensure a broad team environment is maintained throughout all parts of the Club

Qualifications/Requirements

National and/or international level playing experience in singles and hardball doubles

Minimum 5 years of experience in squash program management and administration

Proven track record in the design, planning and execution of squash programming, tournaments and event management





Top 100 Ranking with the Professional Squash Association (PSA)

Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree an asset

Demonstrated experience managing, supervising and developing staff

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes

Exceptional leadership, management and organizational skills

Strong strategic planning and budget management capabilities

Exceptional customer-service and interpersonal skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products

Solid motivational skills to engage and grow the squash section membership

Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential

Working Conditions

40 hours per week, with working hours dictated by business demands including networking with club membership, active participation in specific events and ensuring successful execution of Club functions

Total Compensation

base salary + bonus opportunities including:

90% of lesson revenue

40% net profit from pro shop

50% net profit from house leagues and Club Championships

$25 for each New Member Integration session

Typical total earnings for this role are in excess of $100,000.00 Base Salary: $76,960.00-$120,000.00 per year to commensurate with experience
