Perform assessments, in vivo exposure, group facilitation, return-to-work planning, and one-to-one occupational therapy treatment
Work with clients in WorkSafe programs, Veterans, RCMP, Intensive Outpatient, Flex, and other specialized programs
Collaborate with the clinic's multidisciplinary team to achieve positive client outcomes
Provide individual occupational therapy sessions
Conduct clinical client assessments covering mental health history, risk assessment, trauma, and activities of daily living
Facilitate psychoeducation groups on ACT, in-vivo exposure, sleep education, DBT skills, mindfulness, and other topics
Provide resource-based interventions, case management and coordination, transition, and discharge planning
Assist with grounding and reflection after psychopharmacological treatment
Support functional independence and quality of life through daily living skills, energy conservation and pacing, pain management and education, sustainable routines, and daily structure
Participate in weekly case consultations, complex case discussions, clinical meetings, and professional consultation and supervision
Share client caseloads with other therapists and communicate client progress and care concerns
Complete session notes the same day and submit reports in a timely manner
Provide reporting to third parties and community referral sources
Communicate with employers, insurers, and case managers
Participate in mental health promotion activities and maintain mental health and addictions community resources
Perform other responsibilities related to the role and scope of work
Requirements Minimum of two years of experience supporting clients with mental health conditions, including assessment, triage, and treatment
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
Eligibility for registration and active registration with the applicable provincial occupational therapy regulatory body where practicing
Professional liability insurance required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Satisfactory employment references and transparent police background check, including vulnerable sector check where applicable
Training certificates in trauma therapy, specifically Prolonged Exposure Therapy, considered an asset
Experience supporting first responders considered an asset
Experience working with third-party funders considered an asset
Occasional travel may be required
Valid driver's license and appropriate insurance coverage may be required depending on position and location
