Edon Management

Alberta

Are you the person friends and family call when their technology stops working? Do you enjoy taking things apart, customizing them, and figuring out how they actually work?

Maybe you have built a PC and have strong opinions about cable management. Maybe there is a home lab humming in your closet, a game server you run for forty of your friends, a handheld you have modded twice, or a script you wrote to automate a task that only took two minutes anyway, just because you could.

That is the person we are hiring.

The role
Edon Management is looking for an IT Help Desk Technician to join our small, close-knit IT team. You will be one of three, reporting to our IT Manager, and you will be the first point of contact for 900+ staff across our Alberta offices.

The right person enjoys solving problems, learning new systems, and helping people work through technical issues clearly and patiently.

What You Will Do

Be the friendly, patient first line of support through our ticketing system: user accounts, computers, mobile devices, printers, and phones

Set up, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, and mobile devices for staff

Troubleshoot Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and the business applications our teams use every day

Handle day to day account administration in Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID

Learn and support our property management software and other line-of-business tools

Write things down. Document your fixes and keep our knowledge base from going stale

Get out of the office and visit our regional offices and sites, roughly once a quarter

This is a regular weekday role. After-hours work is rare and almost always planned in advance, for example patching a line-of-business application, updating firewall firmware, or the occasional outage. In practice it has worked out to a couple of times a year.

Where this goes
Here is the part most job postings leave out.

Edon runs on Microsoft 365 and the Power Platform, and we are constantly building, not just keeping the lights on. Once you have the help desk well in hand, we want you reaching further. If you get curious about the tools we use, or you want to take a swing at automating a tedious process, say so. We would much rather grow this role than replace it.

What We Are Looking For

A genuine passion for technology, and the curiosity to ask "okay, but how does that actually work?"

A positive, service-oriented attitude and strong communication skills, meaning you can walk a frustrated non-technical person through a fix without using jargon or making it worse

A diploma in IT, a relevant certification, or the equivalent in hands‑on experience

Comfort with Windows and the Microsoft 365 suite

Openness to modern tools like Microsoft Power Platform and Power BI

A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle. Mileage is reimbursed

Nice to have (not deal-breakers)

Prior help desk, service desk, or customer‑facing experience

Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, SharePoint, Windows Server, or MS365 Administration

Anything that shows you tinker on your own time, in whatever form that takes

Competitive Compensation Package

A competitive salary, plus an RRSP program where we match your contributions

Employer-paid health and dental benefits for you and your family

Vacation and personal days

Tuition reimbursement and talent development programs,

so you can keep learning on our dime

Recognition through our Years of Service and Innovation programs

An employee referral program

Free parking at our Calgary office
