Make a difference as a Food Service Worker with The Salvation Army, providing nourishing meals to those in need. This role is pivotal in ensuring food quality and service excellence.
As a vital part of the food service team, you will report to the Manager of Support Services and engage in food preparation, serving, and sanitation tasks. Responsibilities involve setting up dining areas, serving meals according to dietary guidelines, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining spaces. Your role will also include managing food supplies and performing special catering tasks as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and prepare tables for meal service
• Serve food and beverages following dietary guidelines
• Strip and wash dishes, trays,
and kitchen equipment
• Keep food service areas clean and organized
• Handle meal delivery and restocking duties
Requirements:
• Educational background equivalent to Grade 10
• Food Safe Level I certification necessary
• Solid communication and organizational skills
• Capability to operate kitchen tools safely
• Physical ability to perform tasks effectively
