In this permanent position, you will work directly with the Pharmacy Manager, engaging in the safe preparation and dispensing of medications to inpatients and outpatients. This includes responsibilities such as compounding sterile and non-sterile dosage forms, utilizing automated systems, and maintaining inventory control. Your input will support critical pharmacy quality initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Compounding and dispensing medications in compliance with regulations
• Managing pharmacy inventory and ensuring medication safety
• Utilizing CIVA systems and other automation technology
• Engaging in patient safety and quality improvement programs
• Preparing doses for chemotherapy and distributing narcotics
Requirements:
• Graduated from an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
• Licensure and registration as Pharmacy Technician in Nova Scotia
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
• BLS certification required
• Proficient in basic typing and Microsoft Office skills
