Job Summary
Woodfibre LNG is seeking an experienced Analyzer Technician to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor , the successful candidate will support preventive, predictive, corrective, turnaround, and emergency maintenance activities. Key responsibilities include installing, calibrating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing process analyzers, analyzer sample conditioning systems, and associated instrumentation to ensure accurate and reliable process measurements. The successful candidate will also provide support for general instrumentation maintenance & Turnaround activities as required. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team, ensuring the protected, reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of the Woodfibre LNG facility.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
Support start-up and operations of the LNG plant
Troubleshoot and repair process analyzers such as Gas Chromatographs, Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) analyzers, moisture analyzers, oxygen analyzers, and associated analyzer sample conditioning systems
Troubleshoot and repair ABB PGC5000 and PGC1000 Gas Chromatographs, ABB AO2000 Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS), ABB RVP4501 Analyzer, and associated analyzer equipment
Assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of other process instrumentation and control systems, as required, to support plant operations and maintenance activities
Utilize remote connectivity and digital support platforms, as required, to perform diagnostics, configuration, testing, troubleshooting,
and maintenance of analyzer systems in collaboration with Operations, Engineering, OEMs, and third-party service providers
Support Process Safety Management - Maintain analyzer systems that support process safety, environmental compliance, and operational integrity. SIS awareness, Alarm philosophy, Functional Safety
Inspect, test, calibrate, and validate analyzer systems to ensure accurate and reliable process measurements using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and analytical testing equipment
Perform scheduled preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on analyzer systems, completing all maintenance reports, calibration records, and equipment history documentation
Perform mechanical work associated with analyzer repair and modification, including the removal and installation of tubing, sample lines, regulators, filters, sample conditioning equipment, and analyzer components
Perform analyzer calibration using certified calibration gases and reference standards while maintaining measurement accuracy and compliance with manufacturer recommendations
Troubleshoot analyzer communication interfaces with the ICSS, PLCs, and associated control systems
Provide day-to-day support to ensure maximum reliability and availability of analyzer systems while working towards achieving plant reliability goals and measuring the effectiveness of maintenance programs
Review process flow diagrams, analyzer drawings, sample system drawings, equipment lists, and technical specifications to develop and execute maintenance activities
Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Reliability, and third-party analyzer service providers to support plant performance and reliability
Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance key performance indicators
HSSE
100% compliance with company HSE policies and guidelines
Champion HSE as a member of the LNG Operations Team
Lead HSE Shift Meeting/ safety walks/audits if and when required
Timely intervention to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and plant
Demonstrate a personal commitment to influence overall safety behavior in the plant
Safeguarding systems check lists are implemented/completed by Shift Operations to agreed frequencies and standards
Execute plant wide operations hazards awareness program.
Initiate inputs for plant risk register and mitigation tracking process for operations
Requirements
Required Experience
Minimum of 5+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience
A valid BC Journeyman Instrumentation Technician Certificate or Red Seal Instrumentation Technician certification. Dual ticket would be an asset.
Experience with ABB PGC5000, ABB PGC1000, ABB AO2000 CEMS, and ABB RVP4501 analyzers
Experience with analyzer sample conditioning systems and calibration gas systems
Knowledge of regulatory requirements in BC
Proficiency with Yokogawa control systems
Commissioning and start-up experience
Knowledge of DCS systems, PLCs, HMI systems, and industrial communications
Experience with analyzer calibration, validation, and troubleshooting
Previous experience using a Project Resource Manager (PRM) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as SAP
Additional Requirements
Energetic in pursuit of continuous improvement processes
Experience working with large multi-disciplinary teams, and contractors in a multicultural environment is an asset.
Communication/interpersonal skills - to be able to interact with front line workers through to management and all hierarchical levels.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Motivated and willing to take ownership of tasks
Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks, targets and changing priorities within tight time frames
Shares knowledge readily and encourages personal development
Demonstrated computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, etc
A valid driver's license (with abstract) and passport
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
This role will be a combination of office and site-based role
The position is based in Squamish, BC (Project Site), and work in the Company's Vancouver Office as required.
