As a System Safety Specialist with WSP, you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe and compliant rail and transit operations. This position emphasizes collaboration with design, Human Factors, and other internal teams to address hazards and assess risks effectively. Your analytical skills will contribute significantly to project success and community safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain hazard management processes and logs
• Collaborate on safety requirement documentation with multidisciplinary teams
• Conduct hazard identification using recognized analytical methods
• Review safety evidence for compliance with regulations
• Prepare System Safety Reports and related documentation
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, such as Systems or Functional Safety
• 2–5 years of system safety experience
• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methods
• Robust technical writing and communication skills
• Knowledge of Transport Canada regulations is a plus
