As a Health and Safety Specialist, you'll ensure that operations align with the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act and industry best practices. Your role includes conducting inspections, evaluating hazards, and providing educational support to employees on OHS practices. You'll serve as a critical resource for gas free certifications, managing risk assessments and hazard controls across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect departments to uncover potential health and safety risks
• Update and review HSE policies for regulatory compliance
• Develop training programs for employee education
• Oversee gas testing operations and risk evaluations
• Certify hot work activities and manage confined space entries
Requirements:
• Relevant OHS certification or diploma
• 2-5 years' experience in safety roles
• Familiarity with provincial and federal OHS legislation
